Child Health Nursing
The faculty of Pediatric Nursing involved in the undergraduate teaching from the inception of Nursing College in 2002. The department was established in 2009 after the sanction of postgraduate specialty. The department involves in teaching, guiding the research projects and mentoring the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department received Best department award from Yenepoya University and 3 faculty members had received the best teacher award on the occasion of teachers Day. Faculty members posses good number of publications in the indexed journals. The department also observe commemorative days related to health and conducts Extension and outreach activities.
There are few MoUs namely NGO- PADI, Mangaluru to enhance the students learning on rights of children, welfare measures for children, emergency rescue services and to conduct sensitization programs on various issues related to children and Ave-Maria Palliative Care Centre, Vamanjoor, Mangalore to provide clinical experience to the students and enhance professional skills on palliative care. The department also Collaborated with the department of Preventive and Paediatric Dentistry,Yenepoya Dental College for the value added course on Pediatric Oral Health Nursing to the undergraduate Nursing students. The Core Competencies of the department are Student centric teaching methods, Promotion of research culture among students and faculty and ensure excellent academic performance among the students
